Comparing Fiction and Non-fiction Text

We have been talking to our students about text features and where they would find text features. We also have been talking to our students about the differences between fiction and non-fiction text. We paired our students up and gave them a fiction and non-fiction book. They were to go through the Comparing Fiction and Non-fiction Text sheet that I created to determine where they would find each listed item. The students really struggled with this. I was amazed that they did not recognize the difference between the two. This worksheet was enlightening. We plan to do this activity much earier in the year next time.
