Using bookmarks to create higher level thinking!

To begin our reading workstations we expose our students to a grade level story. We focus on our skill for that week while we are working with that story. To help our students understand their story better we have the students re-read the story with a partner. The students answer questions from a reading bookmark that we give them while they are reading their story. The bookmarks ask questions that will help the students understand their reading and will create higher level thinking.

Here is a look at my class reading with their partner and using the book marks.

The book marks cover tons of reading skills! You can print out the bookmarks and use them with your class. Check out the link below!
